P: yep, kick the bucket, bucket 表示踢，bucket 表示水桶， 難道，kick the bucket表示提水桶嗎？？ K：Kick the bugget 是俚語， 所以當然不能用它的字面意思來理解咯。其實，kick the bucket 這個俚語跟老美的殺豬習慣有關，過去他們在殺豬時，總是把豬倒吊在bucket 桶上，然後在豬的脖子上劃一刀，開始放血，豬垂死掙紮時就會拼命地kick踢那個桶，因此kick the bucket實際上是對―死‖的隱晦說明，跟我們漢語裡的―翹辮子‖是一回事。
